OUR PAST

Our Petersen ancestors immigrated to the United States in 1889 from Denmark. Robbie’s grandpa, Roy Petersen (wife Viola Plock) began farming in York and Fillmore Counties in the late 1920s. After Roy’s death, Robbie’s dad, Glen T. Petersen continued to run the family farm. Robbie followed in his dad’s footsteps in 2000 and took over the indelible legacy left by Glen when he passed away in 2015.

 

OUR PRESENT

Petersen Farms and R.A. Pete Farms are under the management of Robbie Petersen and are located in southeast Nebraska. Our large-scale farming operation is located in Seward, York and Fillmore counties between Fairmont, Exeter and Cordova. Robbie strives to keep up with cutting edge farm technology to consistently produce high-yielding corn and soybeans. He and his wife Allison have four children: Selah, Titus, Hannah and Kenan.

 

OUR FUTURE

Petersen Farms and R.A. Pete Farms hope to continue farming for many years in the future. We are focused on being positive members of our community and raising our children to do so as well.

Landowner Relationships

We are grateful to the landowners who entrust their land to our care. We treat their land as if it were our own and seek to maintain open lines of communication.

 

Farm Practices

We run our operation using good conservation techniques like strip-till, and no-till, and environmentally responsible prescription fertilizer and chemical application. The Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) is a program through the USDA Natural Resources District (NRD) that rewards producers who practice minimum tillage as well as technologies that promote safe, efficient use of fertilizer and water resources.  We have been in this program since the program began 10 years ago and will continue in the future.
